Our destination was Pułtusk

4 October 2012 Participants of the project organised by the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala went on a training trip to Pułtusk, the oldest city in the Mazovia region. It was there where they practised their social skills in unique surroundings of castle rooms. It was there where, having completed a helpful training course with a psychologist, they could apply the theory in practice, particularly in the area of savoir-vivre.

Participants attended interesting classes in extraordinary surroundings and picturesque environment. They gained knowledge about cuisine and eating culture, which is an important element of our culture. An experienced waiter taught the participants how to behave at the table, eat and use the tableware.   How to behave when we invite guests or we are invited by other hosts and how to learn the art of eating. Learning such skills from a specialist will enable the participants to enjoy their meals and the company at the table. Afterwards, participants had an opportunity to put their newly acquired skills into practice. Good manners at the table are conducive to conversations, meeting a person sitting next to us, eating in moderation and the joy of being in the company of relatives and friends. Thanks to that we eat less, we eat healthier and we avoid the consequences of tense and stressful life.

After the training the participants went on a gondola trip down the Narwia River.

Pułtusk is a very charming city, which offers numerous memorable attractions to those who really wish to know it. Both a connoisseur of art and a history lover will find something interesting here. In the town there are both a unique urban island arrangement and the largest Renaissance polychromes located to the North of the Alps. You can also go on a trip marked by souvenirs of the famous battle fought in the Napoleon times or look for a meteorite. Tourists who wish to relax surrounded by nature or spend time actively, may rent, canoes or bikes. Photography lovers and landscape painters will find inspiration here all year round. It's all at your fingertips on the area of several square kilometres.

The trip was very successful, as the group gained the knowledge which could be used in the future with their families, friends and in every environment, including their work place. Such knowledge makes us unique and gives confidence.
