Local institutions – why do they help in a crisis?
The Local Committee for Solving Alcohol Problems, a representative for solving alcohol problems or the Social Welfare Centre - these are only some institutions in which residents may seek help and support in times of crisis.
Assistance brings positive results!
A study conducted by PARPA in 2008 showed that the vast majority (over 89%) of cases of family violence was connected with alcohol. The materials prepared as a part of the "Bet on the Family" campaign, which are distributed during information meetings with parents, family meetings, workshops for children, include basic information on the type of support and opportunities to receive it, about addictions, rules of cooperation in a family. Specialists explain to us why promoting strong, stable, healthy family bonds is so important, what impact it has on the upbringing of the young generation.
Information about local institutions providing assistance is given by social workers, school educators, the Local Committee for Solving Alcohol Problems.
The commune authorities provide access to community centres, organise holiday trips for children and subsidizes meals.
