Relay 11.11.11.11.12.
This year the relay took place, purpose of which was celebrating Independence Day and promoting patriotic values in our community. Slogan of this year relay is “Intergenerational Independence Relay. Activation-Recreation-Integration”. Organiser of the ceremony was Community Office in Kowala with Local Social Welfare Centre and Association of Development’s Supporting of Kowala Community. Start of a relay took place on 11st November, punctually at 11:11 a.m., next to the Monument of Żwirko and Wigura in Kowala. To the brave runners, which made several kilometres long route through Kowala, Rożki, Augustów and Kowala-Kolonia belonged: representatives of Community Office with the Commune Head, Mr Sławomir Stanik and members of Volunteers Club in CSAC in Kowala, Senior’s Club, Point of Information and Consultation, as well as pupils of Primary School in Kowala, firefighters, disabled people and residents of a community. The guardians of the relay participants’ safety were police officers from Police Station in Kowala and firefighters.
All the route of the relay was rendered pleasant by warm sunbeams, omnipresent smiles and delicious meal for the most persevering runners. Meeting was filled by performance of pupils from Primary School in Kowala with repertoire of the patriotic songs.
Relay was a part of all-Poland action 11.11.11.11.12, which was attended by tens of institutions and initiator of whole enterprise was Centre of the Voluntary Service in Association “Partnerstwo Sztuk” in Gołdap.
