Grand Finale of the Noble Hearts in Kowala.
Noble Pack is a project, which connect thousands of people- volunteers, families in need, donors and benefactors every year. There are thousands of meeting, which are held in friendly atmosphere of mutual candour and complete understanding of person for person. Families in need talk about their difficult situation to the volunteers, who they meet for the first time, benefactors prepare concrete help for the strangers and make their dreams come true! On 8-9th December all these efforts were ended by Grand Finale of the Noble Hearts. This year for the first time Kowala became a special place of fulfilling basic and special needs and at last coming true of dreams. According to this assumption family’s need list is created and benefactor meet them halfway.
Storeroom worked in rooms made accessible by the Community Office in Kowala for two days. Hours spent in atmosphere of awaiting, giving, emotion, joy, little concerns, heart’s tremble will be remembered forever by SuperW, who served this project. They will remember for a long time outbursts of joy, sometimes tears, timidity, surprise, childish delight, laughter, warmth and thankfulness, which accompanied them during giving the packs. Families welcomed the volunteers from forenoon to late evening, they learnt about their visit at the last moment. There is no end for thankfulness and it returns all the time in word- thank you, thank you...
Storeroom and its festive atmosphere were prepared by Super Team, but thanks for help of many people from Kowala Community and Wierzbica. All decorations were made by pupils and volunteers from school voluntary service associations from Kowala Community, but also from School Complex in Ruda Wielka and Teenage Growing Up Centre in Wierzbica. Also thanks for them benefactors, who visited us, left us reluctantly, because they wanted to be with us in order to enjoying wonderful atmosphere and other people’s joy.
From morning until late evening we were accompanied in good functioning of the storeroom by young volunteers from Junior High School in Parznice, as well as numerous sympathizers of helping and our friends, i.a. adult volunteers from Volunteers Club in the Local Social Welfare Centre. They packed big and small packs, made beautiful bows, took it out from trailers, put them to the cars, marked them according to the receiver, cared of cleanliness and order in the storeroom. We got through to our benefactors also by their stomachs. As part of the support of Noble Pack’s activities we received from social worker delicious home-made cakes, which tempted and enticed our guests as well as volunteers themselves.
Super Team from Kowala consists of eight volunteers with one Area Leader. Region consists of three communes: Kowala, Wierzbica and Jedlnia-Letnisko. Two people from Wierzbica, one from Jedlnia-Letnisko Commune and five from Kowala Commune volunteered in Super Team. They came to nineteen families’ aid, among them four from Kowala Commune and two from Jedlnia-Letnisko Commune. Estimated worth of that help amounted about 28 000 PLN. Average worth of help for a single family amounted about 1500 PLN (in all Poland it was 1700 PLN). 14 people on average were involved in preparing a pack for one family (in all Poland- 17 people). Our storeroom was visited by about 40 benefactors, some of them from Warsaw. We accepted and delivered about 180 packs, a record pack consisted of 24 boxes, a record help for single family amounted 3500 PLN. There were clothes, footwear, food, personal gifts, make-up, toys, bedclothes, household appliances in the packages. We delivered new washing machines, refrigerators, cookers, rehabilitation equipment, laptops, microwave ovens, DVD players...
A concrete wave of material help passed through our volunteers’ hands, wave of kindness and love passed through their hearts, miracles happened in front of their eyes and this is a treasure, which they will keep for themselves as an unusual payment for their involvement.
Team SuperW worked since few months, last two days in high gear. It’s good, that volunteer is never tired in giving his heart.
In the project, we care about creating conditions for growing up, that is development and to extract from people most beautiful things. We believe that thanks for the Pack, everyone has a chance for change. Wise help, growing up and co-creation are the concepts, which we would like to follow during this edition of the Noble Pack.
In edition of the Noble Pack 2012 in Poland:
- help reached 13230 families in need, in total over 55000 people
- total worth of the given material help (on the basis of average worth declared by the benefactors) was 22 500 000 PLN
- total amount of people involved in project- volunteers, benefactors, families is 300 000
- 7800 volunteers worked in 432 areas
