28. Grandmother`s and Grandfather`s Day

On 24th January there was a celebration for all grandmothers and grandfathers in Community Centre ‘Szansa’. Wards of the Community centre prepared artistic performance and some gifts for the guests to celebrate this moment.Grandmother and grandfather are very important in everybody`s life. Because of being patient and warm-hearted, they are a support of peace and safety. They share their experiences with us. They are full of happiness because of our successes apart from our parents. They are sometimes the family guys and models to follow. It is worth reminding them that they are loved and appreciated this day.

Children welcomed guests with warm words at the beginning of the celebration and recited some poems connected with recent Grandmother`s and Grandfather`s Day. Next artistic performance about ‘how grandfather cooked the cake’ was presented and some songs about grandparents were sung. A very nice part of the celebration was girls` performance- dancing with sashes, dedicated for seniors.

 After performances there was time for wishes and hugs. Children`s handmade congratulatory cards were given to grandmothers and grandfathers, with the wishes of health and happiness with thanks for being with us.

Gathered guests were tasting a cake ‘cooked’ during the celebration and other sweets, handmade cakes prepared by the seniors club. Grandmothers and grandfather are known to spoil their grandchildren, and this time it was the same, for every child they had prepared sweet to thank for nice celebration.
