Kids in theatre

 Next day of our winter holidays we planned a trip to Theatre in Radom to see the play “The Snow Queen”.

 This fairy tale is about the strength of friendship and victory of Good over Evil. The main characters are Gerda and Kaj, friends, who are separated by the cruel queen. A piece of crashed evil glass is placed in his heart, because of this he becomes indifferent on humans` feelings. Behaving like this he is kidnapped by the Snow Queen to her cold palace. Broken-hearted Gerda, cannot believe in her friend`s death, starts her journey to find Kaj.

 We liked this play very much, which was marvellous thanks to dolls which took part in the play. However there were some moments which brought danger, when the Snow Queen appeared on the stage. The music was so thrilling, that we could easily feel the atmosphere which was transmitted from the stage to the audience.

 After the play we had a tour in the theatre and we met its workers. We got to know that the theatre is not only the actors on the stage but also artists, who prepare stage décor, masks, props and also dressmakers who sew all these beautiful costumes and even toolmakers who create all the metal constructions. In the artistic workshop, which is very huge, we saw big masks, artificial animals and sculptures which are the parts of the stage décor. We discovered what giant`s paws were made from, and we got many answers to our questions. In the tailor`s workshop we saw costumes` projects used for the play which we saw and they seemed to be totally different from the ones seen on the stage live.

We were very fond of interesting stories about costumes used in the play “Alice in Wonderland’, which were funny and vivid. Boys especially liked the toolmaker`s workshop.

Next we went to the nearest department store for a treat. Pancakes were delicious, and healthy. While waiting for the meal we got gifts- crayons, which we used to draw our works about winter holidays. Our works took part in artistic competition which was organized by the restaurant. Impatiently, we are waiting for the results of this competition.

Our trip was full of adventures and attractions. We like it so much that we started to plan our next trip to the theatre in the bus on the way home.
