Colours of Volunteer work XIIIth edition- Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala honoured
On Saturday 2nd March we got to know the winners of the XIIIth edition of ‘Colours of volunteer work’ competition organized by All-Polish network of Volunteer Centres.
Festive gala took place in the theatre room of Białołęcki Culture Centre in Warsaw. More than 200 people came. They were applauding winners, honoured volunteers by the President of the Republic of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski and organizations which got the title of the Friendly Organization to Volunteers.
1st place got Sabina Ledwig from Opole. From more than 11 years she has been working in Children`s Domestic Hospice, and also she cooperates with Social Welfare House.
2nd place got Barbara Aziukiewicz. She has been a volunteer for more than 30 years, she has been working in The Society for the Care ofAnimals in Poland, branch in Słupsk, and has been supporting Caritas of the parish named after Saint Jack in Słupsk.
3rd place got ARDO Group from Przasnysz. Three students from post-junior high school, who fell in love with voluntary work and cooperates with disabled children in Public Educational-Rehebilitation-pedagogical Centre ‘Jestem’ in Przasnysz.
The President honoured with diplomas Host Cities' Volunteers for UEFA EURO 2012 and UEFA 2012 Volunteers, who are remembered because of last year`s European Football Tournament.
The certificate of Friendly Organization to Volunteers were given to:
ZHP Chorągiew Śląska Hufiec Katowice, Youth Club ‘SUPPORT’ by Zespół Szkól Handlowych in Katowice, Youth Volunteers` work AGAPE, Association of supporting local community ‘Be Together’ operating by Social Welfare Centre in Mława, Social Wefare Centre in Przasnysz, Social Welfare in Nasielsk, Students` Sport Club VICTORIA Józefów, Association for Legal Intervention in Warsaw, AVE Foundation, Domestic Hospice Care by Caritas Łódzka Archdiocese , Drzewickie Voluntary Centre \Helping Hand’
Among honoured, there was also the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala. Earlier we got the nomination from Mazovia voivode- Mr Jacek Kozłowski.
The competition was held for the second time. Its aim was to honour and promote the examples of organizations and institutions, which cooperate with volunteers, and not only do obey by the law but also they go much further in this cooperation. Friendly work environment for volunteers is created, they take care of their development, proper organization and coordination of work, support in everyday activities. Such institutions are honoured by the organizators.
For the first time in a 13-year history of voluntary gala, classical music created the atmosphere. The Grand Theatre of the National Opera House`s in Warsaw, Musical Theatre`s in Łódź and Romantica Orchestra`s soloists shows made the ceremony more festive.
Everybody said that it was blue sky. Operettes and musical opuses and pop music in operette style which made the audience very satisfied.
The gala was conducted by Mrs Dominika Figurska, who was supported by Ms Anna Barańska-Wróblewska, the director of Białołęcki Culture Centre, in artistic parts by announcing music.
Cremony was held under the Honoured Patronate of President of the Republic of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski.
The Foundation named after Leopold Kronenberg was the partner of the gala. Białołęcki Culture Centre in Warsaw supported the gala.
