Closer to Social Works
The first stop was Kijany in Spiczyn commune, 15 km from Lublin. Sebastian Krajewski – a chairman of five social works and the owner of seven companies, so a man of business, welcomed all guests and surprised us because of understanding the social character of social works and assumptions of reintegration of downplaying. In the same time as a lawyer and economist he can join it together with leading a profitable business.
He presented building social work from the ground, because he welcomed us during the make-over of a new building. He was talking about actions taken presently, about plans, stared activities and ideas, which were successful and about obstacles. He gave advices, how to overcome problems. During the lecture on the grass the chairman introduced the present actions of Professional Activation Centre, Platform of Activation, Cooking Centre of Practical Education and Cooking Institute. It should be mentioned that he is also a chef with confirmed qualifications, and the classes of members of social works are directed to build a business making natural cookies. During dinner prepared by the workers of social work we could taste fungi sauce made by the chef by himself. The next meeting concerning the issue of social economy including works of first generation took place in the building of Rubikon hotel, where the chairman of the oldest social work in Lublin ‘Koziołek’- Mr. Wiesław Wójcik was talking about his experiences. He was talking also about his career from unemployment to the creator of social business, which now operates mainly
What is more, there was a meeting with old and present history in the programme. The group visited the National Museum in Majdanek, what evoked many emotions and the castle in Zawieprzyce with an original guide, a passionate Mr. Wojciech Krzysiak, a member of Małopolska Zgraja Sarnacka, where he is a lord high steward, who makes his actions with a Sarmatian fantasy. The table was full of food thanks to him, with the place for delicious drink, and the words of the hymn about “brzuchy w Zgrai pełne’ are appropriate. These duties did not interfere with defeating the enemy with a baked sabre or other rapier. The lord high steward is also an author of some elaborations about the surrounding and the history of the castle (‘Magia miejsc. Gdzie Bystrzyca z Wieprzem łączą wody swe..’). We will remember the visit to Lamus, where everybody could touch everything, become a knight, soldier or archeologist, keep a meteor which came from Mars, first after death edition of Pan Tadeusz or other unique things like: a dinosaur tooth, a letter of Blessed John Paul II written by hand. At the end there was a castle – Lublin Museum and the good bye. Outgoing workshops were organized within the project ‘Social welfare is very often effective’, Measure 7.1 Human Capital Operational Programme, Sub-measure 7.1.1 Development and dissemination of active integration of the social welfare centres co-funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund.
