Missions and unusual heart of sister Carolina
September 3th, 2013, in the Public High School in Parznice, an educational meeting was held with her sister Caroline from the Congregation of the Sisters of the Resurrection, organized by the Voluntary Club at the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala. At the meeting with the missionary arrived in large numbers of secondary school youth and volunteers.
Family Zone under siege
Third Day Celebrations of Kowala Days in the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala survived the siege. And they were not the Cossacks or other insurgent enemies, but children aged two to ten years and their parents. In addition, the siege was a very nice experience and great pleasure.
Kowala Days 2013
From 16th to August 18th held the Kowala days. Feast is associated with the anniversary of the Battle of the blacksmith during the January uprising. This year the two-day celebrations extended to three days because of the additional attractions, which was a concert by Robert December, which took place on Friday 16 August. Feast this year was celebrated solemnly in particular because of the 150th anniversary of the January Uprising.
We stole Kasia’s heart
On Sunday, August 18th in the evening (at about 8 o'clock) a moved group of social workers and volunteers stole the heart of Kasia Kowalska in front of hundreds of her admirers who came to the concert, to live together and the music of her presence on stage.
Kids in space!
July 8th children from the Szansa in Kowala and from Słonecko in Trablice, courtesy of the Association ‘Backyard Angels’ opted out of the pool and the planetarium space, which until July 25th is in the Sunny Gallery.
“We spend time actively and we care about the health”- once again
Ended in the second round of holiday vacation with Szansa. From 29th July a group of 21 children spent their holidays actively using the classes in the community centre, among others. Motor, visual, integration, hiking and many other stimulating creativity and motivation for active leisure time. Children learn to eat healthily through joint making fruit salad and sandwiches, and were arranged principles of a healthy lifestyle.
August-month of soberty
Since 1984, August is considered the month of sobriety. Why August? This month was chosen because of the great celebrations of Mary, as well as important national anniversaries (if only the Warsaw Uprising, as well as the ‘Miracle on the Vistula’). This tradition is still continued. In order not to lose the uniqueness of this month the Church in Poland is calling us to be freed from the scourge of binge drinking through total abstinence undertaken at one month.
“Live healthy and colourful!” – holidays with “Szansa”
From 8 to 19 July 2013 children from the area of Kowala Commune and those who attend every day to community centre Szansa, spent a two-week holiday promoting health and physical activity. Financial support for this purpose was reached from the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala. Part of the money came also from the Christmas Fair organized by Szansa as well as from private Donors.
"I always have a chance"
For the 4th time the inhabitants of the commune participated in the Nationwide Meetings of Soberiety in Lichen. 21 meeting were held in this year under the slogan ‘I always have a chance’. On 27th July very morning seventy people started their trip to reach the target at 9 o’clock in the Lichen.
A kind word and a helpful hand
July 18th, participants of the project ‘Social welfare is very often effective’ took part in workshops voluntary projects whose main goal was to introduce the idea of volunteering and related activities to those concerned. Groups of 29 people took an 8-hour training with an experienced trainer for several years engaged in volunteering activities.

The community centre Szansa in Kowala keeps records for summer classes which will take place from 29th July to 2nd August. With reference to the two-week holiday activities concerning health topics there will be continuation of healthy eating habits and lifestyle special for the next group of kids.
Intergenerational Bike Rally in Maliszów
On 13th July in Maliszów held place the Second Intergenerational Bike Tour. On Saturday rainy morning at 10 o’clock at local court among golden grain and lush green grass there was a meeting of all habitants who come together to ride bikes ahead. The villagers arrived in raincoats but with a great desire to overcome a designated bicycle route. On behalf of the county-mayor of Kowala, secretary commune Sławomir Stanik, Wojciech Ćwierz greeted all people. Before leaving we heard valuable tips from the representative of Traffic Department of the City Police in Radom. Volunteer Fire Department from Kowala under the direction of the Commander Mieczysław Gębski accompanied from the beginning and also watch over the safety on the road. There was also God’s blessing from priest Bogdan Siurnik of the Roman Catholic Parish in Dąbrówka Warszawska.
Closer to Social Works
The first stop was Kijany in Spiczyn commune, 15 km from Lublin. Sebastian Krajewski – a chairman of five social works and the owner of seven companies, so a man of business, welcomed all guests and surprised us because of understanding the social character of social works and assumptions of reintegration of downplaying. In the same time as a lawyer and economist he can join it together with leading a profitable business.
Double victory
Two informal groups Senior`s Club and ‘Ladies Club’ which operate at the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala got financing fund on social activities which should activate people. It was the next time when non-governmental organisations from Kowala commune reached for grants and were in a group of chosen people in the VIIIth edition of ‘Działaj Lokalnie’ competition of Polish-American Foundation of Freedom, which is realized by Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland. This year we got double victory.
Active 2013
For the fourth time a group of Active went on an integrative trip in recognition of activity in a school year 2012-2013. Unusual teenagers from Kowala commune went on an adventure meeting to Świętokrzyskie Mountains. Engagement in social life and voluntary and distinctive grades at school or in sport is a reason to notice a young inhabitant of our commune and show him that this attitude is appreciated, accepted and worth distinguishing.
‘Stępocianki’ in Iłża in folk
On 15th June 2013 there was IXth Retrospective of Cultural output of settlements of Radomski district in Iłża. Amazingly beautiful, sunny weather were accompanying the celebration, and participants could admire folk culture, unusually rich and alive thanks to many folk bands.
Adventure in Kapkazy
On 14th – 15th June a group of participants of a project experienced unusual adventure in Kapkazy School of Sensitivity. People who were preparing to work as a local animator went there to improve their workshop and went through an outgoing trainee, which aim was to get another important abilities which are needed for being an animator. The workshops were led by Mrs. Beata Domaszkiewicz, a chairman of Association Yard Angels, and also educator of the street and a restless spirit, sensible for every human activity, who was also responsible for passing knowledge.
‘Rely on Family!’ in Kończyce Kolonia
On 13th June 2013 the Primary School in Kończyce-Kolonia relied on family, the weather and gathered inhabitants were favourable. For the second time there was a Family Picnic, this time within the campaign ‘rely on Family!’.
Unusual guests in Bardzice
On 7th June in Bardzice there appeared big and small, health and sick, red, white, yellow, green, blue, pensive and happy angels. Before every of them stayed on the route, the sky was cloudy, but with every minute of this unique meeting clouds started to disappear and at the end it started shining. All angels came to the Family Meeting ‘Angel Postmen’. It was on Friday morning at Primary School in Bardzice.
Giddiness of Community Centre in Kosów
There was an II Integrative Meeting of community centres on 31st May in Kosów ‘Giddiness of Community Centre’. It was a celebration of all children full of smiles, games and music. Children form the community centre ‘Słoneczko’ in Trablice, ‘Szansa’ from Kowala, Dąbrówka Zabłotna, Kosów and ‘Zielona Żyrafa’ which is led by foundation ‘Chcę i mogę’ from Radom came to the meeting. A big group were inhabitants of Kosów encouraged by the smell of grilled sausages and music. In the programme of the event there were many attractions such as competitions and sport shows, dancing and singing shows and many competitions, games and dances.
A family meeting ‘Sober is trendy’ in Młodocin Mniejszy
There was a family meeting called ‘Sober is trendy’ on 26th May in Młodocin Mniejszy. On Sunday afternoon in the Primary School villagers met to celebrate Mother`s Day, but mainly to prove that we could celebrate with the oldest and the youngest members of the family and closer and further neighbours. Not only did the meeting put on the family but also promoted health and sober style of spending free time.
