Santa Claus and the Snowflake visited children in Kowala Commune
Santa Claus did not forget about children from our commune this year as well. Along with the Snowflake he visited several dozens of families. There wasn’t a lack of the gifts and smiles.
Action ‘I am a Santa Claus’ began within the community on 25th November, when pupils from Junior High School in Parznice and adult volunteers from Volunteers Club, working in the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala, carried out a money collection next to the churches.

Grand Finale of the Noble Hearts in Kowala.
Noble Pack is a project, which connect thousands of people- volunteers, families in need, donors and benefactors every year. There are thousands of meeting, which are held in friendly atmosphere of mutual candour and complete understanding of person for person. Families in need talk about their difficult situation to the volunteers, who they meet for the first time, benefactors prepare concrete help for the strangers and make their dreams come true!
Joy of sharing- summary of the Christmas Food Collection
The Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala in cooperation with school Caritas Association, working in Primary School in Kowala joined the all-Poland action of food collecting in agreement with Bank Zywnosci in Radom for the next time.
Summary of the campaign “Bet on family!” in Kowala Commune in 2012
All-Poland precautionary campaign “Bet on family!” consists in promotion of positive behaviour betting on amplification of the family bonds. Kowala Commune took a part in that campaign in 2012 for the first time. Activities were coordinated by Coordinator of Communal Prophylaxis and Prevention against Alcoholism Program. Received materials were propagated within the community, among others, in primary schools, health centre, library, Community Office and the Local Social Welfare Centre. The official inauguration of a campaign was held in February.
Agreement of hearts- Volunteer Day.
5th of December is a special day, giving us opportunity to thank and appreciate role of volunteers in society’s life. It all took place during the ceremony, which was held in Junior High School in Parznice, where guests were welcomed and treated to by Mr Jacek Jóźwiak, headmaster of the school. For the third time, the meeting was organised by the Local Social Welfare Centre in partnership with the Junior High School.

United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 3rd December as International Day of Persons with Disabilities in 1992 in order to tell the society more about problems of handicapped people (people with reductions in correct functioning, which are caused by physical functions’ fall off or abnormalities in structure and functioning of organism) and to help them join the social life.
Second Communal Review of Precautionary Theatres
Theatrical teams from school within Kowala Commune met for the second time on Review of Precautionary Theatres on 28th November 2012. This year’s edition was organised by Maria Konopnicka Primary School from Mazowszany as part of Communal Prophylaxis and Prevention against Alcoholism Program for the years 2011-2013. Watchword of the review was: ‘Bad habits are not for me or how to avoid the danger in order to dreams come true’.
Firefighters and ghosts.
On 17th November children from Community Centre “Szansa” had a pleasure to see closely, how the job of firefighters looks like. A trip to Fire-Station Number 3 in Radom was organized to do so. Due to kindness of firefighters wards of the Community Centre have an opportunity to see cars and firefighter’s equipment as well as motorboat.

Cycle of the precautionary workshops with 4th grade pupils was carried in communal primary schools as part of campaign “Bet on family!” between 16th October and 27th November 2012. It was chaired by Ms Agnieszka Siczek and Ms Kamila Pszczółka.
“St. Andrew’s Day”- time of auguries and predictions
St. Andrew’s Day is special occasion for organizating last boisterous parties before the upcoming Advent. According to the tradition St. Andrew’s Day Party was held on 23rd November 2012 in Community Centre in Kosów, too. The event was an opportunity to integrate community centres from Kowala community area: Community Centre “Szansa” from Kowala, Community Centre “Słoneczko” from Trablice as well as children and the youth living in Kosów, of course.
21st November- Social Workers Day.
Wishes, flowers, sweet gifts... it took place on 21st November 2012 on Social Workers Day. This special day is also Kindness and Greetings Day. Only joy and satisfaction can follow from such a partnership of feasts.
“Organisation friendly for the volunteers 2012”.
Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala, together with seven other institutions, received Diploma of Laureate in Voivodeship Marshal Contest “Organisation friendly for the volunteers ” and thereby was nominated to the all-Poland stage of a contest during the Finale Gala of the 13th edition of contest Marshall of Masovian Voivodeship Award which was held on 19th November 2012 in Kamienica Theatre in Warsaw. Diploma for Local Social Welfare Centre was given in person by Marshall of Masovian Voivodeship, Mr Adam Struzik, which was accompanied by Ms Tamara Borkowska, Head of Jury. Prizes (memory medals “Pro Masovia”) for laureates of photographic contest “Masovia Close to the Heart” were also given during the ceremony, winners of the contest “Masovian Colours of the Voluntary Service” were also honoured, as well as Marshall of the Voivodeship Awards were given.
Campaign “Bet on family!” in Primary School in Parznice
On 13th November 2012 parent-teacher meeting with parents of 1st grade pupils took place in Primary School in Parznice as part of campaign “Bet on family!”. Meeting was chaired by Ms Izabela Kolanowska- a person who chaired workshops for pupils of grammar school in September 2012. Important issues connected with addictions’ prevention were raised during a meeting, results of questionnaire, which was carried out among pupils, were discussed and the whistle was blown on expanding problem of reaching for alcohol.
Relay 11.11.11.11.12.
This year the relay took place, purpose of which was celebrating Independence Day and promoting patriotic values in our community. Slogan of this year relay is “Intergenerational Independence Relay. Activation-Recreation-Integration”. Organiser of the ceremony was Community Office in Kowala with Local Social Welfare Centre and Association of Development’s Supporting of Kowala Community.
How do you look for the child, when you are drunk.
Programme “Fragile Childhood” is Finnish enterprise, working against alcohol problems. Last project of the team realizing programme is a spot showing how children see drunk adults.
Children’s friends are poetizing to them.
On 30th October 2012 the Seventh Communal Declamatory Contest under the slogan “Children’s friends are poetizing to them” took place in Community Centre “Szansa” in Kowala. 19 competitors from elementary schools in Kowala, Bardzice, Mazowszany, Młodocin, Kończyce-Kolonia and from public kindergarten in Kowala took a part in the contest.
Violence towards children- we are educating social services.
On 29th October 2012 the Interdisciplinary Team fulfilling tasks in the area of counteracting a violence in the family in Kowala Community was organiser of the training called “Violence towards the child” which took place in rooms of the Community Centre “Szansa”. A training was chaired by Mr Marcin Bednarczyk- pedagogue, sexologist, expert witness in the area of sexual and family problematic aspects in the District Court in Radom.
About the BUKO Association, the Tuchola Forest and all those people with whom "you want to want"
During two days, from 19 to 20 October, Participants of the EU project "Social assistance - often very effective" were hosted in the Kujawy i Pomerania Province. The trip to Piła crowned several months of training efforts invested in this group. Having completed a business training course with elements of social economy they could see in practice how associations running themed villages operated.
Local institutions – why do they help in a crisis?
The Local Committee for Solving Alcohol Problems, a representative for solving alcohol problems or the Social Welfare Centre - these are only some institutions in which residents may seek help and support in times of crisis.
A recipe for intergenerational dumplings
Add a group of grade III b pupils from the Public Primary School to the Seniors Club, stir them together using a teacher and the President of the Association for Supporting the Development of Kowala. Add a delicious, fresh stuffing made of joy and smile, season it with a Older Person's Day greetings card - that is a recipe for an extremely successful afternoon, which was organised in October by the hosts from the Public Primary School in Kowala.
Integration through pottery
Residents of Mazowszany had an opportunity to take part in unique classes. It was Mrs Barbara Kołodziejczyk, a village administrator, who encouraged them to take part in the workshop.
